About Us

Brian: I grew up in a broken home. Both of my parents took me to church. So when I went to college in 2003, I would have said that I was a Christian. I grew up going to church and I believed in Jesus, but apart from the tradition of my childhood, I didn’t really have a personal relationship with Him. When I got to Northwestern College, an older man, named David, started spending time with me. We had fun together, but he also taught me about prayer and reading the Bible. We discussed theology and my core beliefs about who Jesus is. Looking back, I know now that he was discipling me and that he was on staff with a college ministry called Campus Outreach. It made all the difference in molding me from a boy into a man. David had such an influence on my life, that he married Mindy and I in the summer of 2008.

Mindy: After a spring break missions trip to Honduras, I was invited to a Wednesday night meeting called COW (Campus Outreach Wednesdays) with one of my teammates. I had no idea what it was, but I had heard of Bethlehem Baptist Church, so I went. That night, they showed a video for the Summer Training Project that takes place in Myrtle Beach, SC. Students would live, work, play and learn about Jesus all while living in community for an intense 8 weeks. Through a series of events, the Lord confirmed that he wanted me to go. I went. I met Jesus in a way that I had never experienced. Although I trusted Jesus fully as my savior in High School, I never understood the need for community and vulnerability like I discovered that summer. I returned home radically changed.

Campus Outreach: The goal of Campus Outreach is to “build up laborers on the college campus for the lost world”. Through discipleship relationships, the staff aid in students’ growth and understanding of the gospel. Because Campus Outreach has had such a HUGE impact on our lives, we have been volunteer staff ever since we graduated and got married. The Lord has been deepening our passion and desire to see college students come to love Jesus more and more. We have felt that the Lord has called us to leave our full time jobs, raise monthly financial support, and be on full time staff by May 21st so that we will be able to kick off our ministry by going to the Summer Training Project with the students in June.
