I just checked the blog and realized that neither Mindy or myself have made a post in a while. With Summer at the door, we have lots to share about whats going on with the Hispanic ministry. We have had a decently busy Spring, as Mindy has had some weddings and photo shoots while she is 7 months pregnant and I was able to travel with Luis to Orlando for the Gospel Coalition Conference. I have been still meeting with Eric on a week to week basis on Tuesday mornings and then I have also been meeting with Hector on Wednesday mornings and after the Desiring God Pastors Conference we decided to start praying on Thursday mornings for the Hispanic ministry with vision to send people to the world.
God has been so gracious to us by continuing to provide so many good opportunities. About 2 or 3 months ago Hector told me about a trip that he takes with some co-workers to Northern Minnesota for fishing and camping. It sounded like it was a lot of fun, so I half jokingly, half not told him that he should let me know if there was any space for another person. It sounded unlikely because the trip was already set, but then about a week ago apparently one of the guys had to drop out of the trip for the year. On Weds. Hector asked if I was still interested in the prospect of going with him and his co-workers. I think it will be a great opportunity for Hector and myself to share life together and to have some common vision together. I would love for you to pray on our behalf for the trip to be refreshing and filled with opportunities for us to share the Good News with our own souls and the souls of others. I will try to get some pictures and post them for you all to see when we get back, the trip is June 6-9th.
Our leadership team is also changing some which is sad because we are seeing people leave but so exciting because they are leaving to do ministry abroad and also we get to see some new men raised up to take some charge and responsibility within our ministry.
Pray for Matt and Edith Anderson and their family as the go to Peru to teach.
Pray for Jonathan and Sarah Jerez as they will most likely return to the Dominican Republic for Jonathan to serve with a church.
We have been so grateful for them in our ministry and also for the relational connections we have made and had with them. Praise be to our God for planning and preparing His good work in us from before the foundation of the world.
