Coffee House

Last weekend we put on a coffee house with the students. It was the first time we have attempted an event of this size! It was really fun to see the older student leaders take ownership of planning different aspects of the coffee house. The girls really got into decorating and put up lots of white lights, scarves, vintage books, and candles. It has a fun homey feel for being a room at the church. Brian got Starbucks to donate 5 gallons of coffee which was fantastic! We also had some pastries donated from a bakery in Roseville. We had some really talented students perform: juggling, yo-yo tricks, guitar playing, singing, piano playing. It was a blast!

We had a variety of games set up on the tables for students to play.

This is Brielle. She is a Sophomore at NWC and she shared about how the Lord has impacted her life since being in college. She is going to India this summer with our Cross Cultural Project.

Every student received two tickets when they arrived. It was a free event, but one ticket was for coffee, and the other was for a raffle. This was the prize... the winning student got to choose a staff person and throw a whipped cream pie in their face! Abbie later told me that as they announced what the prize was she said that she hoped she'd win so that she could throw the pie in "Baja's" (Brian's nickname) face! And she won! It was pretty funny!
