Back in the Swing of Spring

I wanted to give a brief update from Spring break with the baseball team and for being back on the campus for the final half of Spring semester. There are only 5 weeks left of school which means many things going on: summer applications due (Praise God for over 250 (53 from Northwestern) students having applied to go on our Summer Training Project (STP)), lots of baseball games (20+ games scheduled for April), equipping students for their personal growth for their summers (especially those not going to STP), and other fun events.

As I informed you all prior, I went to Florida with the baseball team for Spring break. The trip was good from many standpoints: I had a chance to start studying Ephesians with Andy and Cory (I taught them the "inductive method" and we had four days which we walked through the first 6 verses of the book, Mark (a pitcher on the team) and I got to share Jesus with a man named Eugene one evening, and I got to spend a lot of relational time with younger guys on the team which has proven to be invaluable being back. I am going to be starting to study the book of John with one of the outfielders who is a freshman (Taylor), and have had many good conversations with other freshman guys on the team. I am so thankful that God has given me a natural in with the baseball team (I played baseball at NWC and the coaching staff has been very supportive so that I might have opportunities to develop relationships with guys for the purpose of having an impact off the field). Please be praying for all of these men as we get time together and have chances to interact over scripture.
